Under the pristine darkness of Pennsylvania’s dark sky preserve, we turn our focus outward to the stars and inward to the mystery of human consciousness. In this episode, we dive deep into an Estes Method session and unpack what happens when field research meets high strangeness. Drawing clear parallels to Jacques Vallée’s Control System hypothesis and Carl Jung’s collective unconscious and archetypes, we explore how these theoretical frameworks reshape our understanding of raw sensory responses in the dark.
Finally, we reflect candidly on the subtle, personal pressure this work exerts, asking what this phenomenon is ultimately asking of us as observers, and how it challenges us to expand our boundaries.
Do you think that we, as humans, are a necessary component in the paranormal?

Courtney describes a warning she received from an inner voice that was not hers, and a seemingly connected shadow entity that she encountered around a series of unfortunate events in her life. The presence feels mostly positive, but activity intensifies every year near the anniversary of those events. We talk about how the paranormal seems attracted to people going through major transitional changes in their lives, and we discuss boundary-setting and journaling as a means of coping and moving forward.
Guardian or ominous warning? Let us know what you think.

Colleen Coffman, a paranormal investigator, artist, and writer, sits down to talk about some of her experiences that inspire her creativity. Some of her experiences include glowing “cigar cherry” lights in a bush near the fence-line, huge fairy rings, light phenomena with trilling sounds, and a menacing shadow figure stalking her near a fence-line. She shares a Bigfoot-like encounter in a tent near the wood-line where everything suddenly went silent. She heard heavy bipedal footsteps accompanied by a light anomaly and a strange rotten smell before it all went away like it had never been there. Colleen moves on to describe a negative entity that appeared as a well-known horror movie baddie, which followed her for months.
Colleen also mentions that there have been EVPs in her recording with other shows. We thought this would be a neat little ways for you, our audience, to take part and see what you may find. Please, reach out and let us know if anything jumps out in the audio.

In late February 2026, we hit a wall. In an effort to break through that creative block and embrace a fresh perspective, we decided to just sit down and record our unscripted, unfiltered thoughts. While we didn't originally intend to release this conversation, we realized it offers a rare, personal look at who we are and how our understanding of the paranormal has evolved.
Join Gabrielle and Jody as they reflect on a year of podcasting and where they see the future of the podcast headed. They discuss theories and ideas and talk about how their perspectives have changed since starting their podcast journey. We're hoping this leads us on an interesting journey and we're thrilled to have you along with us.

Filmmakers and authors, Ronald C. Meyer and Mark Reeder, discuss why Bigfoot defies simple biological explanation, saying witness reports of Bigfoot vanishing, interacting with the environment unseen, and other anomalies lead him away from being an ape in the woods to something stranger. From the Patterson-Gimlin film to Jacques Vallée’s "Control System Hypothesis", we explore how intent and ritual—like investigations facilitate paranormal experiences. Gabrielle and Jody share a recent encounter and the four discuss why humans, unlike AI, are able to thrive in the mystery, and how the phenomena itself gives us just enough, to keep us asking, "What is out there?". Let us know what you think in the comments.
